  • Is "taking care of yourself" a shallow hobby to have?

Posted by admin on August 3rd, 2010 and filed under scrapbooking expressed | 2 Comments »

Someone asked me about my hobbies and what I like to do. I thought about it long hard and the main thing that I love to do is to take care of myself. Thing is, it sounds sooo shallow. I love to take care of myself physically, mentally, and emotionally…i just love being a girl. I love to workout bc it feels good, you look good, and you’re in good health (which is really important to me…i’m going to be a nurse). And once you get into the flow of having a routine, your body can’t live w/o working out. (also including hiking, basketball, dance). I also love to play w. my wardrobe, mix and match, find new looks, play w. accesories. Almost any woman can tell you that a way of expressing herself and who she is, is through her clothes and how she carries herself. i love fashion. I also was never a big fan of makeup growing up (i like to keep it simple) and now, i’m getting soo into it and finding new "simple" looks for certain days/outfits/events. I started getting into scrapbooking bc i love taking pictures, love being creative, and it reminds me of how blessed i am to have great people in my life. I’m getting into reading…for fun. (Weird, right?) I’ve never been into reading bc its always been "required" for school (and such a hassle) but i like reading inspirational stuff and "coming of age" stories…something I can learn from. And of course, spending time w. friends and family. I’m currently learning how to really cook. I love food and have always wanted to cook good meals so i’m working on that. So this is my list but i feel so shallow. If i were to ever go out w. someone and i list these as my hobbies, would they think it’s weird and "self absorbed"?

it’s not a shallow hobby instead it is diving into the depth of life’s essence !

What kind of computer would best fit our needs?! :)?

What is the best computer for Graphic Design, Photography Editing, Games, and Digital scrapbooking? I guess you can say we need a lot of memory. We want to get dual screens, and get one of those splitter things, lol i dont know what the right name is. I know it would be best to get a custom built one, but i am stupid when it comes to building a computer. lol.

Im on a local website that builds computers and i am needing to put in a bunch of things that i would need, but like i said..its all basically in a different language.

Yes, a custom built pc is always the best option. If you’re not going to build it yourself, then i recommend you go down to your local computer store and nose around in there.

(By that i mean a small, possibly family-run store, not one in a large chain of outlets. Chain stores charge you way over the odds and sell you things you wont really need. Go to a smaller store for the fastest, kindest, most honest service) Ask lots of questions.

Never buy a ‘custom built’ pc from the internet. I know many people who have and in my experience theyre more trouble then they are worth, especially in after-sales customer support.

*Making*Your*Own*Home*Made*Envelopes* I have asked this question in this forum before, but?

Posted by admin on July 16th, 2010 and filed under scrapbooking expressed | 7 Comments »

I’ll ask again as I’m not the one to remember how to be so organized with ANYTHING. I am really, really into scrapbooking. It helps you to express yourself and goes without saying, it is a great hobbie. My question is if anyone knows how to make your own envelopes, I would LOVE to hear from you! The lady that answered last time was great, but I cannot find where I stored her information. That is another thing…if anyone could offer tips to organizing your scrapbooking materials (and email advice for organizing those types of things, I could use some advice in that area too. Thanks in advance!

The first site is for making envelopes. Just scroll down and pick the one you want to use. Click on the name.

this one is a tutorial for scrapbooking and it may have an idea in it for you to organize your material otherwise see if you may be able to pick up a file cabinet reasonably or check with the yard sales.

What do you think about Adobe Photoshop Express?

Posted by admin on July 9th, 2010 and filed under scrapbooking expressed | 1 Comment »

I’m into digital scrapbooking and I heard that photoshop is good for digi scrapbooking, what about photoshop express? Also, does photoshop express have to be downloaded onto the computer or is it like an online-only thing? Thanks!

It’s an online-only thing and, um… I think you can store up to 2G memory of photos and you can create different albums and stuff. But the photoshop express isn’t as complex as the regular photoshop.
Also, you can easily transfer your photos from Facebook, Flickr, Photobucket, or Picasa.
